How Setup Panels Work
Most systems are configured with buttons and menus. Here is what to expect.
Commands like /ticket config, /welcomeconfig, /boostconfig, /stickyconfig, /reactionroles, /customcmd, /logconfig, /autoroles and /giveaway start open a setup panel. A panel is a message full of buttons, dropdowns and tabs that lets you change settings without typing.
Things to know #
- Private by default. When opened with a slash command, only you can see the panel.
- Only you can click it. Even when a panel is visible to others, only the person who opened it can use the buttons.
- Changes save instantly. There is no separate save step for most settings.
- Pop up forms. Buttons that need text, like a message or a colour, open a small form. Fill it in and press Submit.
- Panels expire. After 2 minutes without a click the panel closes itself. Just run the command again, your settings are safe.
- Test before going live. Most message builders have a Preview or Send Test button so you can check the result first.
Message builders #
Welcome, leave, boost and sticky messages use the same block based builder. You stack up to 8 blocks to design your message:
| Block | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Text | A paragraph of text. Markdown and variables work. |
| Section | A heading and text with an optional thumbnail image on the side. |
| Gallery | Up to 4 images shown together. |
| Separator | A thin line to split your message into parts. |
You can also add link buttons below the message, reorder blocks with Move Up and Move Down, and pick an accent colour from presets or your own hex code.
