The Builder lets you design good looking messages without writing any code. Build a classic embed or a modern container, watch the preview update as you go, and send it to any channel or webhook when it is ready.
Every part of the Builder is free on every server. There is no Pro requirement.
With /builder the panel opens privately, so only you can see your draft. Your draft is kept while you work, so you can close the panel and run the command again to pick up where you left off.
With the prefix version, the panel is posted in the channel, but only the person who ran the command can press its buttons. Anyone else gets a private note telling them to run the command themselves. Prefix panels close after 5 minutes without use.
Two modes #
| Mode | Best for |
|---|---|
| Embed Mode | The classic Discord embed: coloured side bar, author, title, description, fields, images and a footer. Great for rules, info posts and announcements. |
| CV2 Mode | A Discord container built from blocks: text, dividers, sections with a button or image, rows of link buttons and image galleries. Great for modern looking panels and showcases. |
Switch any time with the CV2 Mode and Embed Mode buttons. Each mode keeps its own draft, so switching does not lose your work.
Embed Mode #
The top of the panel shows a live preview of your embed, its colour, how many fields you have used and how many characters you have used out of Discord's 6,000 limit.
| Button | What you can set |
|---|---|
| Edit | Title (up to 256 characters), a link for the title, the description (up to 4,096 characters) and the colour as a hex code like #8b5cf6. |
| Author | Author name, a small author icon and a link for the author name. |
| Images | A thumbnail (the small image at the top right) and a large image at the bottom. |
| Footer | Footer text and a small footer icon. |
| Content | Plain text shown above the embed. Handy for pings or a short intro line. Up to 2,000 characters. |
| Fields | Opens the field manager. See below. |
| Timestamp | Turns the time in the footer on or off. |
| Preview Embed | Shows you the real embed exactly as it will look when sent, privately. |
| Clear | Starts a fresh embed. |
Fields
Fields are the small titled blocks inside an embed. You can add up to 25.
- + Add Field asks for a name (up to 256 characters), a value (up to 1,024 characters) and whether it shows inline (side by side) or as a block (full width).
- Pick a field from the dropdown to Edit it, switch between inline and block, Move Up, Move Down or Delete it.
- If a new field would push the embed past 6,000 characters, the Builder stops you and tells you to shorten something first.
CV2 Mode #
In CV2 Mode you stack blocks one after another. The preview at the top is your real container, and the list underneath shows the order of your blocks.
| Button | What it adds |
|---|---|
| + Text | A text block. Markdown works, so you can use headings, bold, lists, links and emojis. Up to 4,000 characters. |
| + Separator | A gap between blocks. Choose Long Divider for a visible line or Short Divider for just spacing. |
| + Section | Text with something on the right. Choose Section with Button (a link button with your own label and URL) or Section with Image (a small thumbnail). |
| + Row | A row of up to 5 link buttons. Type each one as Label | URL, for example Website | https://ethvex.xyz. |
| + Images | An image gallery with up to 5 images. Type each one as URL | description. The description is optional. |
| Color | The accent colour on the side of the container, as a hex code. |
| Remove Last | Removes the most recent block. |
| Clear All | Starts a fresh container. |
Buttons made in the Builder are link buttons. They open a website when clicked.
Sending your message #
When you are happy with it, press Send and choose where it goes.
Send to Channel
Press Send to Channel
A channel picker appears.
Pick a text channel
Ethvex posts your embed or container there straight away.
Done
You get a confirmation with Build Another to keep your draft and make a new version, or Start Fresh to clear it.
Ethvex needs permission to send messages and embed links in the channel you pick. If it cannot post there, the Builder shows you the reason.
Send through a webhook
Sending through a webhook posts the message with the webhook's own name and avatar, so it looks like it came from your brand instead of Ethvex.
Create a webhook
In Discord, open the channel settings, go to Integrations, then Webhooks, and create one. Give it the name and avatar you want.
Copy the URL
Press Copy Webhook URL. It looks like https://discord.com/api/webhooks/....
Press Send to Webhook
Paste the URL into the box and submit. Your message is posted through the webhook.
The Builder remembers the last webhook you used, so sending the next version is quicker.
Treat webhook URLs like passwords. Anyone with the URL can post in that channel.
